Male Fertility Specialist in Hanamkonda
In roughly half of couples struggling to conceive, a male factor is involved. Testing the man takes days and costs little.
Male Fertility Specialist in Hanamkonda
A pattern we see repeatedly: a couple has been trying to conceive for two or three years, the woman has undergone extensive investigation and sometimes several cycles of treatment, and the man has never had a proper semen analysis. By the time he is tested, considerable time and money have gone.
This is worth correcting early, because the male evaluation is quick, inexpensive and non-invasive. A clinical examination, an advanced semen analysis and a hormone profile can be completed within days, and frequently find something correctable — a varicocele, an infection, a hormone deficiency, or a supplement the man is taking that is suppressing his own sperm production.
At RAMS the entire male pathway sits in one place: testing, diagnosis, microsurgery and sperm retrieval. Dr. Rammohan holds an MCh in Urology with a Fellowship in Andrology and Men's Health, so the man is assessed and treated by the same specialist rather than passed between departments.
What the male assessment actually involves
It starts with two days' notice, not a procedure
Maintain two to five days of abstinence before the semen test — shorter or longer distorts the result. That is the only preparation needed for the first visit.
The sample is produced and processed here
We have a private collection room. Samples produced at home and carried in lose motility during transport, which regularly produces falsely poor results and unnecessary alarm.
The analysis follows WHO criteria in full
Not just count and motility, but strict morphology, vitality and leucocyte screening — the parameters that explain why two men with the same count can have very different fertility.
One abnormal result is never the conclusion
Sperm parameters fluctuate with illness, stress and abstinence period. An abnormal result is confirmed on a repeat sample before any conclusion is drawn or any treatment started.
Reassessment comes at three months, not three weeks
A sperm production cycle takes about 74 days. Any clinic promising improvement in a fortnight is not describing biology.

Frequently Asked
When should we get the male partner tested?
At the start, not after the woman has been through treatment. If you have been trying for twelve months without conception — or six months if your partner is over 35 — both partners should be assessed together.
Does a low sperm count mean I cannot have children?
No. Many men with low counts conceive naturally, and treatment often improves the count. Even when no sperm appear in the ejaculate, retrieval procedures frequently find sperm within the testis.
I have been taking testosterone from the gym. Does that matter?
Very much, and please tell us at the first visit. External testosterone and anabolic steroids suppress your own sperm production and are a common cause of severe infertility — often reversible, but it takes months.
How soon will we know the result?
Standard semen parameters are usually available the same day. Specialised tests such as DNA fragmentation take longer, and we tell you the timeframe when the test is arranged.
